Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it busted a gang by arresting four members for honey trap in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
Police in a tweet said: “4 members of a honey trap gang arrested.”
They have been identified as Firdous Ahmed Mir of Rainawari (fake SP), Mohd Tariq Mir of Lal Bazar( Fake reporter), Ashiya of Bemina (pseudo honey trap girl and Masrat Mir of Habba Kadal (fake crime branch officer).They use to lure gullible people and extort money, the police said.
“The Girl used to set up meeting with the gullible person. The other members of gang would impersonate as professionals like reporters/police and then blackmail the victim,” police said, adding, “One house of female accused in Mehjoor Nagar was used.” Police said a case (FIR no 68/2023) under section 392,472,419 IPC has been registered at Sadar police station.
