Militant, Soldier Killed; 3 uniformed men injured in Rajouri

Jammu: A soldier and a militant were killed and three uniformed men including a police SPO were injured in an ongoing gunfight in Rajouri on Tuesday.

ADGP Jammu Mukseh Singh said that one militant and an army soldier were killed and “three others including one police SPO injured in the ensuing encounter in Narla area of Rajouri district. More details are awaited as the operation in the area was underway when this report was being filed.

Earlier, the gunfight erupt between militants and security forces in the Narla area of Rajouri.

Meanwhile, Indian army said that its dog named Kent laid down own life in the “best traditions of Indian Army” and saved its handler while battling militants in Rajouri on Tuesday.

“Kent was leading a column of soldiers on the trail of fleeing terrorists. It came down under heavy hostile fire. While shielding it’s handler, it laid down own life in the best traditions of Indian Army,” a defence ministry spokesperson said in a statement to GNS.(GNS)
