JK logs 166 new COVID cases, one fresh death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Friday witnessed one death and 166 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,149.

With one more death, the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,405 and 166 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 324,813.

Of the exact number of 324,813 cases, 201,891 are from Kashmir division and 122,922 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 166 new cases, 112 belong to Kashmir division while as 44 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 201,891 including 198,846 recoveries and 2,241 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,922 including 120,413 recoveries and 2,164 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,149 including 804 from Kashmir division and 345 from Jammu division.

With 76 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 319,259 which is 98.30 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 57 from Srinagar, 16 from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 17 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 44 from Jammu division include 09 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 10 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 17 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities on Friday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally reaches to 44.

As per officials figures, 72,185 positive cases including 834 deaths and 71,004 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,862 including 282 deaths and 23,492 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,127 including 22,832 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,316 including 15,083 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,226 including 166 deaths and 14,022 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,442 including 16,200 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,623 cases including 9,472 and 101 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,107 including 9,970 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,406 including 11,238 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,597 including 5,533 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 53,003 including 51,765 recoveries and 1,142 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,380 including 11,232 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,088 including 10,811 recoveries and 234 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,526 including 7,310 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Doda, 9,285 including 9,123 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,134 including 7,011 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,766 including 4,670 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,315 including 6,191 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Poonch, 5,987 including 5,916 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 6,438 including 6,384 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 3,174,768 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,711 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,149 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,717,951 persons have completed the surveillance period and 443,552 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 13,161,386 samples are available. Out of 13,161,386 the number of samples tested negative stands at 12,836,573 while as 324,813 have tested positive, among them 1,149 persons are active, 319,259 persons have recovered and 4,405 persons have died—(KNO)
