India, Pak troops exchange sweets on Diwali

Kupwara:Indian and Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) today exchanged sweets at Kaman Aman Setu, Uri & Tithwal Crossing Bridge in North kashmir’s Kupwara district on the occasion of Diwali.

Both the countries exchanged sweets and compliments with their representatives in an atmosphere of bonhomie and festivities.

The bridge at Kaman Aman Setu, Uri & Tithwal has been a key enabler for such peace meetings. The calm along the LoC as a result of ceasefire agreement has brought warmth which has been displayed on several occasions between the two neighbours. The sweets exchange is a gesture appreciated by both countries and is expected to go a long way in promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival with a hope of a better future ahead.

Local people on either side also termed these gestures as unique which in turn will bring security to the population living along the borders and promote prosperity and happiness.(CNS)
