Srinagar: From robust infrastructure initiatives to digital governance excellence, Jammu and Kashmir UT charts a course towards a brighter future, emphasizing unity, peace, and prosperity.
A senior official in the administration told Fish Eye that UT’s focus on infrastructure development has seen unprecedented achievements, with road and bridge projects playing a pivotal role.
“Initiatives like NABARD Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) and Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) have further enhanced rural connectivity, while special programs ensure smoother road surfaces and pothole-free roads,” he said. Adding that the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has successfully connected 2107 habitations, achieving an impressive 99% completion rate.
With these initiatives, the official said thay Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as a pioneer in digital transformation, transitioning over 480 government offices to e-office solutions and offering 1100 online services.
“Recognized as the top Union Territory in e-Governance, collaborations with entities like Haryana Govt. underscore its commitment to innovation. Robust IT policies, the Digital J&K Vision Document, and the Cyber Security Policy ensure efficient service delivery and empower citizens,” he added.
The UT prioritizes peace and safety alongside economic and social development initiatives. Enhanced security measures, collaborative initiatives, and youth empowerment programs aim to create a conducive environment for sustainable development. Diplomatic efforts at both national and international levels focus on building bridges and strengthening relationships, contributing to regional stability.
With same zeal, JJM ensures access to clean water for rural households, with significant progress in infrastructure creation. The power sector has witnessed a transformative journey post the abrogation of Article 370, aiming to make the region energy surplus. Strategic partnerships and milestone achievements in grid connectivity underscore the renewed focus on infrastructure development.
The Department of Public Grievances, J&K, plays a pivotal role in overseeing grievance redressal through the JKIGRAMS Portal. The Lieutenant Governor’s “Mulaqaat” Program fosters closer engagement between the public and the administration, reflecting a commitment to transparent and citizen-centric governance.
