Srinagar : Bilal Ahmad Chopan, 17, an artist from Hardu-Aboora, Tangmarg village in Baramulla district says the reason behind his creative hand is love for designs.
A self-taught artist, Chopan developed his interest in art when he was a kid.
Chopan, who is studying in 11th class at GHSS Tarhama, is a self taught sketch-painting and calligraphy artist’ whose art had keep hidden since past 5 years.
Despite no formal training for painting cum calligraphy, Bilal has emerged as a creative artist with his art works inspired by iconic artists.
“I had an interest in art of painting since early of my childhood, i was drawing sketch of flowers, animals and plants on notebook, untill now i attach with the passion of painting and will remain forever”, said Bilal Chopan.
Everyone in this world is unique and God gifted with different talents, abilities and capabilities, but many people even never give a second thought to their hidden talent.
“I am thankful to my Parents who supported me in my journey.
“I feel peace when i wrote Allah’s name and quran verses in calligraphy and i want to work on old Kashmiri tradition in the field of art,” he said.
I have participated in couple of painting competitions held across the sub-division Tangmarg, but due to financial trouble my art reside behind walls.
Bilal has drawn a breathtaking sketch of Kaaba on stone, which has taken him four hours to get complete. “Hidden talent in valley needs to be encouraged and Govt, should provide platform for talented youths in their field,” he said.
Govt should also take initiative to implement skill development subjects in schools, which will help students to achieve their goals.
“Those who are interested in painting i will help them to hone their skill in art of painting”, he added.
