Srinagar: A 25-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Bulbul Lankar area of Nawa Kadal in Srinagar on Tuesday.
Senior police told CNS that a youth named Meeran Ali Pathan was shot by unidentified gunmen, leaving him critically injured.
Immediately after the incident, the injured youth was rushed to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile Meeran Ali was known as a professional bodybuilder of the area and according to eyewitnesses, he was shot three times by unknown gunmen.
Amid President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to J&K, Jammu and Kashmir police termed it as “gang war” which according to them broke out between two “groups”.
“During the fight Mehran was fired upon and killed” they added
It is pertinent to mention that “Gang wars” are least known to Kashmir valley .
