No possibility of heavy rainfall in JK: MeT

Srinagar: Meteorological department on Thursday said that there is no prediction of heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir during the coming days adding that scattered light rain was possible at some places today.

MeT sources added that no major rain occurred during night in the whole J&K and Ladakh. Right now the weather is generally cloudy at most places.

“The weather will be generally cloudy, becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon. There is a possibility of occasional light rain at some places. However there is no forecast of any heavy rain for today,” he said.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 20.3 degrees while Jammu recorded a minimum of 23.8 degrees.

Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam recorded a minimum temperature of 18.6 degrees while famous tourist resort Pahalgam recorded a low of 15.3 degrees Celsius.

Kokernag had 6.4mm of rain even as it recorded a minimum of 17.0 degrees Celsius, the official said.

On the other hand North Kashmir’s Kupwara recorded minimum temperature of 18.7 degrees and tourist resort also Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded minimum of 13.5 degrees Celsius.
