COVID-19 cases in Kashmir are witnessing an uptick, while a majority of cases are being reported from Srinagar District which not only should be a cause of concern for the administration, but also for the people who are being openly seen flouting the COVID SOPs. If the same continues, then the possible third wave of the COVID is imminent and to prevent the same, there is a need for taking preventive measures by the public as well as the administration.
As of now, Srinagar is reporting the majority of cases that are reported from Kashmir and is being termed as COVID hotspot. The situation can change swiftly if the measures are not taken well in time. It is to be noted here that the pace of vaccination in the Srinagar district is quite slow and the same needs to be augmented so that more and more people are covered under the COVID-19 vaccination.
The officials of the district administration have also been impressing on the need for increasing the vaccination as it along with the CAB can help in preventing the situation from taking an ugly turn.
Even though the facilities in the hospitals across Kashmir have been augmented in the cooling period during which the patient load in the hospitals decreased, the danger continues to loom large. There is a need for the administration to take further measures because of the increasing number of COVID cases and at the same time, more and more people should get themselves vaccinated against the COVID-19 at the earliest.
