The city is facing traffic woes in the shape of frequent jams during the peak hours and the reason being unnecessary traffic diversions at some places and where the diversion are needed, the absence of the same. The situation gets difficult particularly, during the peak rush hours. Also, there are several spots in the city where the dividers are needed but are not present and there are also various spots where the dividers are not needed but can be seen in good numbers.
What adds to the entire situation is the absence of ample parking space. We do have mechanised parking in the city, but the irony is that due to the sorry state of affairs, the parking adds to the traffic jams due to the mismanagement of the same. On the other side, we have another ready parking facility but the same has not been made operational due to unknown reasons. The administration is reportedly waiting for the Home Minister to inaugurate the facility; however, till then the public has been let to suffer.
There is a need for taking calculated, well-planned steps in the city to ensure that the traffic woes are put to an end, the issues being faced by the public are put to an end once for all. The city needs some creative, planned measures so that the traffic rush is streamlined particularly during the peak rush hours. We should thank our stars that schools are so far not functional; otherwise, the situation would have been different.
