Over the last three years, the region has seen remarkable growth in infrastructure and the adoption of cutting-edge technology, leading to a newfound sense of progress and optimism among its citizens. It has all become possible with the commitment of the LG-led administration which is achieving what used to be a dream for the people of J&K. There is progress and there is innovation which is in turn improving the ease of living.
Providing Hope
A beacon of progress has been the construction of 880 flats exclusively designated for Kashmiri migrant employees. This initiative not only addresses the pressing need for accommodation but also showcases the government’s commitment to resolving long-standing issues faced by the region.
“We finally have a place to call home in the valley. The construction of these flats has been a ray of hope for us, and it demonstrates the government’s dedication to uplifting our lives,” said a Kashmiri migrant employee, expressing gratitude for the positive change.
Transforming Connectivity
The completion of 6912 kilometers of roads in the past three years has revolutionized connectivity and spurred economic development in Jammu and Kashmir. The improved road infrastructure has opened up new avenues for trade, tourism, and easier travel for residents.
“The newly constructed roads have transformed our commuting experience. We now have better access to markets and hospitals, which seemed like a distant dream before,” remarked Abdul Rahim, a local businessman, appreciating the progress.
Empowering Minds
Education has taken center stage in the region’s transformation with the establishment of 49 new degree colleges, IIT Jammu, and IIM Jammu. These institutions have empowered the youth with quality education and equipped them with the necessary skills to compete at the national and global level.
“I am proud to be part of IIT Jammu’s pioneering batch. The opportunities and exposure we receive here are unparalleled, and I believe we can contribute significantly to the nation’s progress,” expressed Priya, a student at IIT Jammu, with optimism about her future.
Cinematic Culture
Srinagar’s cinematic culture has experienced a revival with the opening of new cinemas, including a large multiplex that has won the hearts of movie enthusiasts. Audiences can now enjoy the latest Hollywood and Bollywood releases, adding a new dimension to the region’s cultural landscape.
“I never thought I would witness such a magnificent cinema in Srinagar. It’s a delight to watch our favorite movies on the big screen again,” exclaimed Faisal Ahmed, a cinema-goer, expressing his joy.
Seamless Services
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken significant strides in digital governance, with a majority of government services now available online. This has brought unparalleled convenience to citizens, sparing them the need to visit government offices for routine matters.
“The online services have revolutionized the way we interact with the government. It saves us time and hassle, making it so much easier to access essential services,” praised Rayees Ahmad, a local resident, applauding the convenience.
Embracing AI
J&K is embracing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in various sectors. Several pilot projects in healthcare and other departments are driving digital transformation, making the system more robust and efficient.
“The implementation of AI in healthcare has opened new avenues for better diagnosis and treatment. It’s an exciting time to be part of the medical fraternity in J&K,” shared a healthcare professional involved in an AI project, acknowledging the positive impact.
JK Saransh
The Information Technology Department of J&K has developed ‘JK Saransh,’ a first-of-its-kind AI tool for document summarization. The tool promises to revolutionize the way information is processed and will significantly benefit various sectors in the region. “This AI tool is a game-changer for document summarization. It will save countless hours and improve decision-making processes across departments,” said Kaiser Ahmad, an IT expert, expressing enthusiasm for the tool’s potential.
