Jammu: Stating that peace is prerequisite for development and prosperity, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that security forces have been instructed to crush terrorism and its ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating the first-edition of Sikh Cricket Premier League here, LG Sinha, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said, “I have always maintained that the development is not possible without peace. Establishing a secure environment is not only the job of security forces and the administration. People have to play their role.”
“The Indian Army is capable and is giving a befitting reply. J&K Police and security forces are working in coordination and they have been instructed to crush terrorism and its ecosystem,” he added.
LG Sinha said that there will be no halt in anti-terrorism operations, as safeguarding peace and tranquility in J&K is the top priority. “The security agencies have been given clear and unwavering directives to root out terrorism and ensure lasting stability,” he added.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering at the inaugural function of the Sikh Cricket Premier League, LG Sinha highlighted the contribution of disciplined and motivated youth in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharing an inspiring story from his recent visit to a village in Samba district, he said, “The youth of that village, along with retired Army officers, have transformed its destiny. Half of the village is serving in the Indian Army, and nine sub-inspectors from that village were selected in the recent recruitment list.”
Calling the Sikh Premier League an important initiative, he lauded the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork, emphasizing the role of such events in youth development.
“It is not just a sporting event but a cultural and social initiative that reflects the commitment to holistic community development and aims to build a brighter future for the youth of Sikh community in J&K,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
