Srinagar: A large number of people from Gasoo in the Hazratbal Assembly segment today joined the Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Peoples Front (JKNPF), marking a significant political development in the area. Many of those who joined were close aides of the National Conference who, according to local accounts, felt sidelined and neglected, prompting their decision to extend support to JKNPF.
The joining took place in the presence of Party President Jasif Ahmad Khan; Senior Vice President and Constituency In-charge Hazratbal, Basit Bashir Gagroo; Vice President Tanveer Jeelani; Youth President Sheeraz Ahmad Pandith; Constituency In-charge Chanapora Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai; Grievance Head Siraj-ud-Din; and other senior party leaders.
Party leaders observed that the development reflects growing public dissatisfaction in the Hazratbal segment and signals rising confidence in JKNPF’s vision and leadership. They stated that the previous leadership had failed to address the genuine concerns of the people, resulting in disillusionment at the grassroots level.
On the occasion, Party President Jasif Ahmad Khan assured the gathering that pending developmental works and public issues would be addressed within a shorter timeframe through committed and people-centric efforts. Senior Vice President Basit Bashir Gagroo also emphasized that the Hazratbal constituency would no longer be ignored and would receive focused attention and representation.
The mass joining is being seen as a major boost for JKNPF’s organizational strength in the region and a sign of shifting public sentiment toward alternative leadership.
