Srinagar: The light rains lashed Kashmir parts on Monday morning and evening, bringing respite from the scorching heat that continued from last couple of days here while the weatherman here has predicted more intermittent rainfall till July 21.
Parts of Kashmir experienced fresh rainfall in the wee hours of the morning and in the evening while the day temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, was settled at 27.3 degrees Celsius, an official in the Meteorological department told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
However, there was respite from the scorching heat in the evening after Kashmir parts received light rainfall.
Notably, as per an advisory issued by MeT, there is possibility of flash floods across Jammu and Kashmir in the next few days as it has predicted heavy rainfall across the Union Territory till July 21.
Director MeT, Sonum Lotus told KNO that they are not expecting continuous rainfall tomorrow as well, adding that the intermittent rainfall would lash Kashmir parts tonight and early tomorrow as well.
He added that the prediction already made public was not from Kashmir only, but Jammu as well where moderate rainfall is occurring at present.
Lotus further stated that the prevalent weather conditions would significantly start improving from July 21—
